Quaking Aspen
Quaking Aspen
The Quaking Aspen (Populus tremuloides) is a distinctive and widely recognized tree known for its shimmering, heart-shaped leaves that tremble in the slightest breeze, creating a soothing, rustling sound. This deciduous tree is native to North America and is the most widely distributed tree species on the continent. Quaking Aspens typically grow between 20 to 80 feet tall and are easily identified by their smooth, white bark and vibrant golden-yellow foliage in the fall.
In the United States, Quaking Aspens are commonly found in national parks across the Rocky Mountains, the Sierra Nevada, and the northern regions, including Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Rocky Mountain, and Yosemite National Parks.
